The Academic Learning Centre is hiring Writing Tutors for the Fall 2026 term.
Writing Tutors support students in developing academic writing skills, including thesis development, organization, referencing, editing, and academic communication.
Appointment Period: August 24 – December 18, 2026
Pay: Undergraduate $21.82/hr · Graduate $24.29/hr
Hours: Up to 20 hours/week
Positions: Up to 30 available
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Indigenous students are strongly encouraged to apply.
Application package must include a cover letter, résumé, unofficial transcript, and academic writing sample with citations and references.

Through an ongoing partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency, the University of Manitoba is hosting a free webinar focused on self-employment and small business taxes.
Open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, freelancers, entrepreneurs, creators, consultants, local businesses, community organizations, and the wider public.
Date: June 3, 2026
Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Topics include tax responsibilities, deductions, GST, record keeping, invoicing, and common mistakes to avoid when running a business or earning independent income.
UMGPS offers affordable printing and photocopying services for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Join a welcoming and inclusive yoga class open to all experience levels. Participants are encouraged to bring comfortable clothing, water, and a yoga mat.
