Nominations for the 2026–2027 University of Manitoba Graduate and Postdoctoral Students’ Society (UMGPS) Teaching Award are now OPEN!
About
The purpose of the award is to recognize individuals who have made, in the estimate of their graduate students, a significant contribution to teaching. The recipient will receive a cash prize of $250. To be eligible, nominees must have spent at least two years as a member of the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Manitoba and must currently be engaged in teaching, supervision, or related academic activities at the time of nomination. Graduate students are encouraged to nominate their thesis advisor, a seminar or course instructor, or a faculty member. Nominations will be assessed based on teaching practices and innovation, impact on student well-being, and mentorship.
Instructions
The deadline for Teaching Award nominations is September 15, 2026. Students are welcome to submit their nominations directly through the online nomination form.
