About

The University of Manitoba Graduate and Postdoctoral Students’ Society (UMGPS) Student Awards recognize the important contributions graduate students make to society through scholarship and community involvement. The awards are intended to support graduate students who do not currently hold a major fellowship, including but not limited to SSHRC, NSERC, CIHR, MHRC, and University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowships. The Awards have been made possible by the generous contribution of Dr. James Burns, a levy applied to graduate students approved through a GPS referendum, and a contribution from the Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative.
