UMGPS Student Fee Structure

The following is a breakdown of Student Fees assessed by the UMGPS.  If you have any questions about where your student fees go please feel free to contact the UMGPS office.  For information on Health & Dental fees or the U-Pass, visit their respective pages, or go to the University of Manitoba Students’ Union website.

These are fees assessed by UMGPS to all graduate students with permission and cooperation from the University of Manitoba.
These fees are mandatory for all graduate students. The total fee assessed is $141.78 for each semester (Including Legal Care fees) and $106.66 (Without Legal Care fees). A small fee of approximately $6.29 is assessed during the summer semester. We use these fees for a variety of purposes, including:
  • Supporting our daily operations,
  • Providing student supports, including 9 annual scholarships totalling over $50,000 and over $20,000 of support through the UM food bank, UM emergency grant program, UMGPS holiday hamper program, and UMGPS legal care program.
In our day to day work, UMGPS advocates for graduate student needs both in and out of the university, holds events, supports student research, and fosters community among graduate students.
A small portion of these fees also transit through UMGPS to external organizations that graduate students wish to support, such as the campus radio station and the university recycling and sustainability program, among others. These fees were decided by referendum and have been approved by graduate students.

Engineers Without Borders:  $0.13 

CFS National & CFS Services:  $5.75

CFS Manitoba:  $3.83
